On Monday, March 15, a Special Executive Session of the Band Assembly was held through conference call and zoom.

Two contracts were approved:

— A contract for LawVisory to provide professional legal services to the Band. Contract end date is September 30, 2021.
— A contract for Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. to provide professional legal services to the Band. Contract end date is September 30, 2021.

On Tuesday, March 16,Legislative hosted a Webcasting training for Band Assembly members, Revisor of Statutes, and Legislative Staff. Training was on Granicus Media Manager and Granicus Live Manager. Legislative hosted a Pre-Band Assembly meeting to discuss the agenda items.

On Wednesday, March 17, Band Assembly occurred through conference call and Zoom.

Joseph S. Nayquonabe, Commissioner of Corporate Affairs gave a presentation on Hotel Renovation/Slot Co. Presentation was completed with a power point presentation with discussion, questions, and comments offered during each slide.

Two bills were approved:

— Band Assembly Bill 19-03-29-21: A Bill of Supplemental Appropriation for Disbursement of Unspent Net Revenue Funds for an Adult Band Member Economic Support Payment for the Months of April and May 2021 in the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2021. Sponsor: District III Representative.

— Band Assembly Bill 19-03-30-21: A Bill of Supplemental Appropriation for April and May 2021 Tribal Per Capita Distributions for the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2021. Sponsor: District I Representative.

One foster care license was approved.

The following contracts remain tabled:

— A contract for Amanda Nickaboine-Meyer to serve on the Aanjibimaadizing Ojibwemowin Strategic Committee.
— A contract for Indigenous Enterprise, LLC (Anton Treuer) to serve as Managing Editor for the MLB younger reader book project as well as serve on the Aanjibimaadizing Ojibwemowin Strategic Planning Committee.
— A contract for Michael Sullivan to serve as Text Editor for the MLB book development project as well as to serve on the Aanjibimaadizing Ojibwemowin Strategic Planning Committee.
— A contract for Chato Gonzales to provide consultation for language revitalization to serve on the Aanjibimaadizing Ojibwemowin Strategic Planning Committee. This contract also includes four sessions of transcribing duties for the MLB book development project.
— A contract for Keller Paap to provide consultation for Language revitalization to serve on the Aanjibimaadizing Ojibwemowin Strategic Planning Committee. The contract also includes four sessions of transcribing duties for the MLB book development project.

On Thursday, March 18, Legislative held a work session for the Band Assembly members, Legal Counsel, Revisor of Statutes, Staff Attorney, Legislative Staff, Commissioner of Finance, Commissioner of Corporate Affairs, MLCV Legal Counsel and Legal Policy & Counsel Office of Chief Executive Office.
