Crews begin preparation for 2015 Rum River bridge replacement

BAXTER, Minn. – Motorists traveling Highway 169 in Vineland may encounter flaggers, shoulder and lane closures while utility crews move underground utilities in preparation for a 2015 project to replace the Highway 169 bridge spanning the Rum River.

The closures and work will occur just south of Vineland Road Feb. 9 through Feb. 27 during daytime hours. Vineland is located along the southwest shore of Mille Lacs Lake, north of Onamia.

Motorists approaching the work zone should slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.

When complete in fall 2015, the project will result in a longer bridge with wider shoulders, improved safety and better ride quality.
