Forms are now available to request absentee ballots for the March 31 Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe primary tribal election. To request an absentee ballot you must meet the criteria of the MCT Election Ordinance:
(1) live outside the reservation boundaries;
(2) live within the reservation boundaries, but I will be absent from the reservation on Election Day; or
(3) live within the reservation boundaries, but am physically disabled or too ill to vote in person.

The Mille Lacs Band Election Office will be available at the Mille Lacs Band Community Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for any Mille Lacs Band Member over the age of 18 needing to vote by absentee as a walk-in, or just call and request that the Absentee Ballot be mailed to you.
The Election Office will be closed due to funerals or any other weather-related closures.
Mailed in Absentee Ballots would need to be notarized before returning to Election Office. If you have submitted Request for Primary Election in March 2020, you would also have to submit another one for the General Election in June 2020.
We will be accepting Absentee Ballot REQUESTS to be mailed to you by phone, Letter, fax or email for the Primary Election for Chief Executive and District I Representative to be returned by March 31, 2020 which is the last day ballots to be accepted for the Primary Election. General Election to follow on June 9, 2020.
