On Monday, April 26, Art Gahbow Day, Elected Officials & Legislative Staff attended NAFOA 2021 Virtual Conference.

On Tuesday, April 27, Legislative hosted a Pre-Band Assembly meeting to discuss the agenda items and also attended the NAFOA conference.

On Wednesday, April 28, Band Assembly occurred through conference call and zoom.

Commissioner of Corporate Affairs Joe Nayquonabe presented on Slot Co with a request for guidance from Band Assembly to move forward with the proposal. Commissioner Nayquonabe provided details and highlights of the proposal.

A Confirmation Hearing was held with David Sam, Mille Lacs Band Member, who was nominated for District I Associate Justice

Two resolutions authorizing land leases for residential purposes were approved.

Also approved were:

— Band Assembly Bill 19-03-35-21: A Bill of Supplemental Appropriation and Budget Revisions for Administration, Department of Justice, and Health & Human Services for the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2021. Sponsor: District I Representative.

— Band Assembly Bill 19-03-36-21: A Bill of Supplemental Appropriation for Disbursement of Unspent Net Revenue Funds for an Adult Band Member Economic Support Payment for the Months of June and July 2021 in the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2021.

— Band Assembly Bill 19-03-37-21: A Bill of Supplemental Appropriation for the June and July 2021 Tribal Per Capita Distributions for Adults for the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2021.

— Resolution 19-03-56-21: A Resolution Agreeing to Comply with Guidelines Adopted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for Community Wayfinding Signing.

Legislative Order 32-21: A Legislative Order Adopting Band Assembly Recordkeeping Procedures was tabled.

Band Assembly also approved a foster care license, several contracts, and a hardship request.

On Thursday, April 29, Elected Officials & Legislative Staff attended NAFOA 2021 Virtual Conference. Elected Officials & Legislative Staff attended Tribal Executive Committee Subcommittee and Regular Tribal Executive Committee Meeting.

On Friday, April 30, Legislative held a work session for the Band Assembly members, Legal Counsel, Revisor of Statutes, Staff Attorney, Legislative Staff, and Commissioner of Finance. Mel Towle, Commissioner of Finance, presented a Review of Loan Arrangements for Real Estate Holdings. Elected Officials & Legislative Staff attended the Regular Tribal Executive Committee Meeting.
